Your Place In the Birth Room
Often in today’s world, our focus shifts back and forth between so many things and people. This doesn’t need to be the case in a birth room. Knowing how to step back and allow the time and space is imperative in birth work. In your doula training through RootedBirth, you hear of different experiences from Midwives and Doulas working together, throughout the course, and in your later hands-on practice and training. Taking these teachings, you can continue to have these practices and ideas reinforced and understood.
Why a Doula?
It’s often a question of how realistic it is to want to be a doula. Is my passion suitable for a career? We look at why people choose to have doulas attend their births. As a doula, you provide physical and mental protection and comfort, often acting as an advocate as well as a comfort. Being a doula also supports communication throughout the birth team with the client. The title of doula has become more common in the birth world; your place, understanding, and teaching are important. And your passions can be a career.
